Why do I need a Three signal booster?
It’s difficult when our homes and offices don’t have a good mobile phone signal and even more so when our network is doing nothing about it! It is not fun to have to stick our heads out a window, attempting to get a better signal when we’re on an important business call or simply speaking to friends or family!
Three’s network signal spreads throughout the countryside but sometimes the Three mobile signal does not make it into our homes and offices. This is not necessarily always the network's fault; and is sometimes due to common issues, such as building insulation/materials, natural formations such as hills or valleys, living too far away from main antennas, etc.
Luckily Mobile Repeater can help you fix this problem yourself! This range of Three signal boosters is designed to overcome the problems that cause poor indoor coverage. Using the best techniques and materials, we consistently refine and test our signal repeaters to guarantee they will work efficiently; and for that reason, Mobile Repeater has been the #1 seller of boosters in the UK for 10 years. Our mobile repeaters give amazing improved signal straight away and amazing results are guaranteed!
Are Three signal boosters easy to install?
Our Three Signal Boosters are super easy to install! Simply install the antenna outside, at the location where you get the most outdoor signal. Then connect the coaxial cables from the antenna to the repeater; then simply connect them to the indoor antenna. There are options to have several indoor antennas if necessary.
Will a Three signal booster work for me?
To guarantee it works, all you need is a bit of mobile signal outside your building. If you have a very poor mobile signal outside (0-1 bars), be sure you’re covered by adding a Parabolic Antenna outside. It is a special antenna that will gather the signal from up to 15 km away; and you can add this antenna to your order when you check out. This additional signal gain will ensure you get the results you need, just as if you had 5 Bars outside instead of 1!
About mobile phone signal frequencies:
Don’t let the complexity of signal frequencies confuse you. It is necessary to ‘get to know’ these frequencies a little better in order to choose the perfect mobile repeater for your network.
Have you ever had very low signal and realized that you can’t get online but can still take calls? This is due to the fact that the mobile signal coverage you are receiving may only be from 900MHz to 180MHz; and the higher range 2100MHz and up is getting broken up before it gets to your mobile phone. Most mobile phone calls are made over 2G/GSM which operate in the UK on 900mhz & 1800mhz. This is the signal you can get with a 900MHz, an 1800MHz or a combined 900/1800MHz repeater. With these repeaters, you can still make and take calls, but to get an internet connection you would need to use a Wi-Fi connection.
These 900/1800MHz lower frequencies can sometimes travel farther; and thanks to their wave length, things like walls or natural formations that block the signal are much easier to penetrate. But, when a frequency is higher such as 2100MHz or 2600MHz, it cannot travel as far and is blocked much easier by walls, trees or buildings.
The mobile phone network Three (3), now known as one of the best in the UK, had some initial fame due to very poor signal. This is because it operated only 3G on 2100MHz (hence their name Three).
At the time of Three's release, the UK did not have a strong 2100MHz infrastructure and Three users could not use GSM. Now however, Three's 3G (and other) infrastructure is so good in the UK that that is no longer the case. At the same time, as you may have guessed, with a Three mobile you need the 2100MHz connection for calls. However, all the same, Three's 3G operates on 2100MHz, which is also typical of other networks in the UK.
With 4G/LTE, which operates at 2600MHz, the signal is a lot weaker. But most networks in the UK are starting to use the 1800MHz; and in some cases 800MHz frequencies for 4G to improve connection and infrastructure fluidity. With 4G data connection you can navigate the internet via data at ultra-fast speeds and with great clarity. It is highly recommended that you get a Three Mobile Repeater that covers both 3G and 4G, since 4G signals are usually the most fragile, and have the most trouble penetrating materials due to it's high frequency.
Three mobile signal frequencies:
For Three's 3G it operates on 2100MHz, which is a typical 3G frequency in the UK. In fact, all 3G supporting networks work on this frequency.
For Three's 4G they operate on 2 different frequencies (one for urban areas and one for rural areas). These include 800MHz and 2600MHz, which are also very common for other UK networks.
How do I choose the right mobile repeater?
We recommend 2 things before choosing: 1) defining the total area of the space you would like to cover. 2) defining which services you would like to boost (3G, 4G, or both). As long as you have at least 1 or 2 bars of signal outside your business or home, you can be safe knowing you have chosen the right Repeater. We have designed and tested the repeaters for each and every network. So, you simply choose the network you need to cover.
We have very simple and easy to install mobile repeater options. For example:
Home Premium - Ideal for your apartment or small home of home office will focus on three main frequencies. You can get the Premium in any of size booster from a small office to a large building (250 square meter coverage). It will always be the most efficient option to cover the size of building you need.
Home Essentials - This is a booster built specifically to boost your 3G connection (which also includes voice calls for Three network) as it works on the 2100MHz frequency. It has a good coverage of up to 250 square meters, so it is great for a modest home.
Five Band Repeater - This is one of Mobile Repeater's star boosters, given that it boosts 5 different frequencies at the same time! 2G/GSM/3G/4G/LTE are all the "boostable" frequencies in the UK; so we strongly advise this repeater if you are looking to boost a building with lots of network activity, such as a conference building, a restaurant/cafe, an office, etc. It additionally cover a staggering 2000 square meters!
